Individual Therapy in Arizona for Trauma, OCD, and Neurodivergence
Evidence-Based Therapy for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Treating OCD is different from regular talk therapy.
During treatment, we not only strive to understand where our obsessions and compulsions come from, but takes steps to eliminate these behaviors over time.
This is done through a variety of evidence-based treatments for OCD including Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Metacognitive Therapy (MCT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Together, these methods improve our resilience, coping skills, and reduce symptoms to regain a sense of peace in our lives.
Specialized Therapy for
Complex Trauma and PTSD
Trauma occurs when our ability to cope with a situation is overwhelmed— either through a single event (PTSD) or through several events over time (C-PTSD).
Surviving trauma changes the way we view ourselves, our relationships, and the world we live in. We feel unable to trust others, out of touch with who we are, and like life has lost it's meaning.
Trauma therapy not only addresses symptoms like anxiety and depression, but works to stop future symptoms from happening through nervous system regulation. This can be done through a variety of treatments including EMDR, Existential Psychotherapy, and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.
Co-Occurring Diagnoses
Sometimes a person will have more than one mental health condition they are seeking treatment for at the same time, such as OCD and Autism, or PTSD and OCD (both common co-occurring disorders). In cases like these, you want to ensure your therapist is trained to treat both disorders in addition to having an understanding of how they might overlap. This is why adequate training and education is so important when finding a therapist who is the right fit.
