I work with a variety of mental health concerns including trauma and PTSD, Bipolar I and II, Anxiety, Depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, Agoraphobia/OCD, and Level 1 Autism (including late-diagnosed Autism and Autism in Women).
I additionally have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and psychedelic integration.
I am a queer, kink, poly/ENM, and trans-affirming therapist.
I do not see couples or minors at this time.

Yes, I always offer a free 15min phone consultation for prospective clients. This gives us a chance to discuss what brings you into therapy and how I typically work with those issues.

Yes. I offer evening therapy appointments after 5PM to accommodate a variety of client schedules.

Root Cause requires 24 hour notice before a missed appointment. Failure to cancel in that timeframe will result in a fee worth 50% of the total session cost. Failure to show without notice will result in a fee of 100% of the session cost.

Yes! Root Cause is queer and neurodivergent owned, meaning we are dedicated to maintaining a diversity and identity inclusive practice that is kink, poly, ENM, and trans inclusive.

I do not accept insurance and am considered an “Out-of-Network Provider.” This means that if you have a health plan that offers out-of-network benefits (OON), I can provide you with a superbill to seek reimbursement for services at your request.
The terms of reimbursement is going to depend on your policy, so I encourage people to review their plan or contact their insurance company for the most accurate information.

Yes, I offer offer as many sliding scale spots as I can to keep therapy accessible to those who may need a reduced rate, do not have insurance coverage, or are on a high-deductible plan.

Yes— Root Cause is a telehealth-only practice that utilizes HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing platforms.
This allows for the greatest amount of flexibility with scheduling and rescheduling, in addition to providing increased accessibility to care across the state of Arizona.

Pursuant to the federal “No Surprises Act of 2022”, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
We will include a “Good Faith Estimate” along with intake forms prior to your first appointment. You have the right to request a revised “Good Faith Estimate” at any time during your treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
